PrescribeIT® concluding operations and TPP Alberta’s prescription requirements

The Tracked Prescription Program (TPP Alberta) has been notified that PrescribeIT® will conclude its operated service on May 29, 2026, at 11:59 PM (EST).

Prescribers using PrescribeIT® on a TPP Alberta exemption-approved EMR system are currently exempt from the requirement to use a physical Tracked Prescription Program (TPP) pad when prescribing TPP Type 1 monitored medications. The PrescribeIT® exemption will remain in effect until PrescribeIT® ceases operations on May 29, 2026, at 11:59 PM (EST). After this date, or upon any earlier date of PrescribeIT® deactivation by your respective EMR vendor, prescribers who do not qualify for another approved exemption will be required to use physical TPP pads when prescribing TPP Type 1 monitored medications.
