In 2026, TPP Alberta proudly marks 40 years of advancing safe prescribing and strengthening public protection across Alberta.

As we reflect on our progress, we also look ahead with confidence, continuing to evolve to meet the needs of Albertans and the healthcare system.

In 2025–26, TPP Alberta strengthened governance, modernized operations, and enhanced reporting to support safe and appropriate prescribing across the province.

Key milestones include:

  • The expansion of the TPP Steering Committee to include Alberta’s newly established health agencies, including Acute Care Alberta, Primary Care Alberta, Assisted Living Alberta, and Recovery Alberta

  • The TPP Alberta Interactive Atlas updates with new prescribing and dispensing data, including the addition of five-year stimulant prescribing trends

  • Data quality initiative progression through focused collaboration with system partners to address prescriber attribution gaps and medication misclassification within Pharmaceutical Information Network (PIN) data

Together, these initiatives reinforce TPP Alberta’s commitment to proactive monitoring, system collaboration, and responsible modernization in support of public health.
